D-Squared Studio’s Oscar Party | Dallas Special Event Photographer
Once again, Doug Davis and D-Squared studios asked me to take pictures of their yearly event: The Black and White Oscar Party. I’m not going to say that I am a filmmaker, but I have attempted a few of them that have taught me a lot of respect of what it means to win an Oscar. It’s easy to dismiss the award as something political that happens in Hollywood; that’s probably true. There’s also something to be said for even being nominated, even if you don’t win. If you’ve ever starved for your art, you know what it’s like to have a few moments of contentment where it feels like your craft might actually be worth your time. To win an award like the Oscar takes a great deal of passion, commitment, hard work, loss, and short term-memory to keep thriving in an industry as competitive as feature films. I am so blessed to have been asked to take historical evidence of a party that Allen Eskew has been throwing for 20 years. That’s right, in a row. This was by far one of the best parties I have ever attended. If you attended, you can see all the pictures HERE. Enjoy some favorites….
