This has been a great year for SKP. I have met some amazing individuals who inspire me daily and I learned a lot about photography (mostly from mistakes). I have titled this post as a “Special Event” because I recently travelled to Brownsville, Texas to have Christmas with my family. All the 11 children from my grandmother, Raquel Trevino, assembled as a surprise and I am thankful to have been there to provide photographic evidence. Only a fourth of our family was able to come but the ones who were there reminded me how lucky and blessed I am to have been born into this group of folks. I have done some challenging shoots in my time, but trying to round up a group that has heard all your “bulsh” since the day you were born required lots of love and patience–with me! Thank you to all who have supported me throughout this year and to my family who has always shown me the way to success. I have to give lots of love to Bob Munro and his creative genius. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; I am so thankful and blessed to have been the official wedding photographer for this amazing event. Each time I shoot, I learn a little bit about love, family, and photography. This couple reminded me what it means to have a connection that can never be described with words. The family and friends of this gorgeous couple made me feel welcome and reminded me why I am passionate about shooting these types of events in Dallas–someday the world. The largest yoga training system in the world asked me to take pictures of their special yoga event in Dallas. Of course I said yes! As a student of the practice, I am blessed to be a part of such an awesome collection of yoga talent and mind/body knowledge. This crew of adventurers taught me that you can be creative even in the worst of florescent lighting conditions (awful photographer joke).
